Dr. Nakia S. Verner has over 20 years of teaching voice and piano. She has taught at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, the Peabody Preparatory, and the Music Conservatory of Westchester. Dr. Verner is also among the distinguished faculty at the Summer Opera Institute at the Washington National Opera. Dr. Verner's approach is centered on teaching the whole singer and healthy,
La Voce Organica
Bel Canto singing based in the Italian tradition. This approach applies to any style of music and is evident in the success of her students throughout the United States and abroad.
Dr. Verner is currently on the faculty of the Levine School of Music, Prince George's Community College, and the Catholic University of America. She is also has a thriving private studio where her method of teaching and singing, La Voce Organica, has transformed the lives and careers of her students.
